Vice President

Brett Barnes

Brett gained his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at Texas Tech University where he was actively involved in the AGC and was the Founder and President of the USGBC on campus. He found his real passion for construction while completing a summer internship with D.E. Harvey Builders in Houston, Texas. After graduation in 2009, Brett started his career working in the field for Epoxy Design Systems, a Structural Concrete Repair Company, where he quickly grew into a PM/Estimating position. Soon afterward he was given the opportunity to work for Hardin Construction as an Estimator in a startup office in Houston. This lasted until 2010 when he received a call from D.E. Harvey Builders to rejoin their team. For the next 8 years Brett was given the opportunity to bid, manage and close out multiple landmark projects in the Houston area. While with Harvey, he led their technology committee to implement project management software, Procore, across the entire company. Brett left Harvey in 2018 to work with the Stewart family to grow a design-build and development division within the already well-known Stewart Companies.

Today Brett brings more than 15 years of experience to the team, where his role is to lead all aspects of the division under the direct supervision of Mark Stewart. His daily responsibilities range greatly from evaluating new developments, land acquisition, due diligence, assisting in leading design teams, creating, and managing estimates & project buyouts, all the way to project management and closeout. Brett’s skills allow for a cradle-to-grave approach to developments and design-build projects and bring a high level of quality to the table with the ability to stay on schedule and within budget. While with Stewart, Brett has led the development and construction of 250,000 square feet of commercial buildings, 4,500,000 square feet of industrial development, 318 units of multifamily housing, and 450 acres of land.

Project Manager

Wilson Santos

Wilson is a seasoned construction and development professional with more than 14 years of experience in the industry. He graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science. During his time at Texas A&M, Wilson demonstrated his dedication to his field through academic excellence and practical experience.
In 2009, Wilson completed an internship with D.E. Harvey Builders in Houston, TX, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry. After graduating, he joined D.E. Harvey Builders full-time and spent the next 11 years honing his skills and expertise in estimating and project management.
Throughout his tenure at D.E. Harvey Builders, Wilson successfully managed a diverse portfolio of projects in the Houston area. His notable accomplishments include overseeing the construction of a 31-story office tower, four 190,000 SF office buildings, a 50,000 SF Design Build LEED Platinum office building, and a 46-story apartment tower.
In 2021, Wilson seized a new opportunity to further his career by joining the Stewart family's growing Development and Design-Build division. As a key member of the team, Wilson plays a vital role in all phases of the development process, from conceptual design and estimating to project management and closeout. His expertise allows him to ensure the highest level of quality while maintaining control over budgets and schedules.
Since joining Stewart, Wilson has made significant contributions to the success of various industrial developments and projects, totaling 3,000,000 SF.
Senior Development Manager

Casey Sandlin

Since joining Stewart Development in 2024 as a Senior Development Manager, Casey has played an instrumental role in managing and executing the organization’s approach to developing and managing its real estate holdings. With more than 15 years in the industry, Casey has strong backgrounds in both commercial and residential development sectors, construction management, structured finance, and capital markets.

Casey’s responsibilities include oversight of multiple development projects’ full life cycle including site selection, entitlements, underwriting and financial packaging, and eventually, lease or sales negotiations. Casey’s skill set allows for the successful management of multiple properties and assets with the firm’s growing portfolio.

Before joining Stewart Development, Casey led development activities for multiple firms that specialized in residential and commercial development. Over the past 5 years, Casey has been involved in the development of over $500 million worth of real estate projects spanning retail, residential, office, hospitality, and mixed-use asset classes.

Casey holds a M.S. in Real Estate and a B.S. in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. In his spare time, you can find him in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, or cheering on his kids at their sporting events.

Project Manager

Kade Stewart

Kade's journey into construction began in his earliest years, accompanying his father, Mark Stewart, to job sites while still a toddler. Throughout high school and college, Kade engaged in pivotal summer internships with Stewart Development and affiliated entities, such as Keystone Concrete Placement and Keystone Structural Concrete. These experiences equipped him with a diverse skill set and a wealth of knowledge across various construction disciplines. Following his graduation from Texas A&M University in 2020, Kade pursued his longstanding passion for professional golf, spending two years traversing the southern United States in pursuit of a spot on an established tour.

In 2022, Kade redirected his focus back to construction, joining Stewart Development in a full-time capacity. His first project involved contributing to the on-site operations at St. Mary’s Catholic Center in College Station, Texas, where he supported the Superintendent and Project Manager with day-to-day duties. Subsequently, Kade transitioned to the Houston office, assuming the role of Development/Project Manager. In this capacity, he undertakes diverse responsibilities ranging from site due diligence and leading design teams to crafting project budgets and estimates, all while actively seeking out new development opportunities.

Project Manager

Cole Sauer

Cole began in the construction industry at a young age, his father ran a commercial electrical company in Houston for more than 30 years, allowing him to watch and learn about the industry as he grew. During high school, he would work in the warehouse, and field, and then moved on to drafting and estimating for his father after High School. He attended Texas Tech University and after graduation, worked for Vaughn Construction in Lubbock. At Vaughn, he worked primarily on higher education projects at the Health Science Center and the University. Cole has worked at Stewart since 2019 and is known around the office for his charismatic personality. Since joining Stewart, he furthered his knowledge of leading design teams, entitlements, project management, and estimating from start to finish on projects. He has worked on everything from a 300,000 SF design-build renovation in East Downtown to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station.
Assistant Project Manager

Vince Cavallaro

With more than 13 years of extensive experience in solution-based sales, property & project management, and team development, Vince didn’t begin his journey in construction, but has found a home in it. Vince grew up in the Midwest in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a BS in Marketing. After moving to Houston, he would go on to spend the next 9 years in retail at Mattress Firm, with four of those spent as an Area Manager for the company. During his time there, he developed his core skill sets in sales, property management, training, and team development. Through successfully managing 5 high-performing locations, this experience helped elevate him to his next role as a General Manager at Pathfinder Development, a leader in the Hospitality industry. As a GM, his role involved overseeing the growth and performance of a 90-room property with a staff of 26 employees.
Two years later, he would decide to take a leap of faith in a completely new territory and dive into the world of construction. He was hired as a Project Manager for Pavecon, a leading pavement maintenance company specializing in commercial paving, asphalt, and concrete in Houston, TX. His job duties involved business development, project management, and relationship building, specializing in Property Management/HOA, Retail/Office, and Industrial sectors. Vince left Pavecon at the beginning of 2023 to join Stewart Development as an Assistant Project Manager. At Stewart Development, Vince brings experience from multiple different industries to the team. During his time here, his job duties have included construction management for a new 30,000 square foot RV service center, GC services for a new 10,000 square foot warehouse, and development of new accounting and analytical tools used to better improve company financial reporting.
Project Manager

Tyler Rapp

Tyler, a former student-athlete at Northwestern State University, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration before launching his career in commercial construction. His journey commenced in the field, initially focusing on interior renovations, where he showcased exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to excellence. In his role as a Project Manager, Tyler has led a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from small service tasks to multimillion-dollar ground-up constructions.

Notable among his achievements is the completion of the groundbreaking $91 million Volkswagen Vehicle Processing Facility in 2024. This project transformed Gulf Coast logistics, creating a sustainable import hub for 140,000 vehicles annually.

Today, Tyler continues to uphold his commitment to servant-based leadership, setting new benchmarks for excellence in commercial construction through his unwavering dedication to quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
